I played beta 2 and 3. I'm 95% sure I will buy the game when it is released some time in March. The game already seems polished and is very stable. There are alot of class combos also. 4 basic archtypes and 8 subs under those. You can have 3 of the 8 subs active at anytime (with a limited amount of points to put into them) and can switch between 4 different builds if you are out of combat. You are stuck with the original archtype though ie Rogue, Warrior, Priest, Mage.
I only did limited PvP and didnt even take a Rift over to the enemy area. I had some fun duels with people on my Mage. I fought a Warrior that I could kill, but the other Mage was getting pwned by him. This Mage could pwn me Mage vs Mage. Then the Warrior switched specs and beat me, but lost to the other Mage. We had probably 5-7 duels vs each other so these where not flukes. My build was a frost type with knock-backs and slows. The other Mage was Fire/ Necro build. The Warrior changed from burst dps to a (get this) more magic/debuff Warrior with a magic ranged attack.
My Cleric was a DPS build and I killed a fair amount of level 20's when i was 17-19. I barely got level 20 before the end of the beta with all the crafting/ gathering I did.
Well the only other thing I can add is I'm still not sure if its that new game excitement, or if it has the staying power needed to not be a 1 or 2 month and quit like most of the others. I guess after the next few CB's I will have a better idea.

Here is a link to a Talent Builder. Check it out if your half interested cause it will show you how much you can pick and choose for builds.

I'm going to be playing on the Briarcliff server on the Guardian side.

This is what the actual beta invite looks like when your account is unlocked for beta. If it's not specific, you're

Thanks for sending me email about this game. I have been looking for something to play after getting bored with Starcraft 2. Preordered from Direct2Drive, got beta invatation. Will be playing tonight, I think. Anything else I need to know about?

Wondering what other people think about it after playing some beta themselves. I wouldn't mind playing it if there was a good amount of people going to it, but don't think it could hold my attention by myself.

So far I am enjoying it. I just need to figure out what I want to play for release. With the wide variety of sub-classes and builds to go with it's hard to figure out what's best this early.
Anyhow we are on Lotham server Defiance side.

What's a good build? I tried archer main, and assasin main over the weekend. It seems I have only enough points to spend on main and 1 sub, the 2nd sub is hard to put in any points. And the crafting thing is interesting. I am doing light armor, weapon, and rune. And the dark garden pvp is pretty good. And there is auction house, although no one is using it at the moment.
One thing bothers me is that "you have to face your opponent" to attack, instead of auto-turn facing to opponent. But I guess it is a control issue on my side. Also if you try to attack from out of range, it won't auto approach, it just sit there and a note come up saying it is out of range.

I like this since it gives an advantage to people who also control their characters well. People who cannot get this down, cannot return damage while running (and suck at kiting)

This is a Korean MMO feature I guess. I've only seen it in Aion and free MMO's

Hey , been looking at vids about Rift , especially player gameplay , i think that sais most about the game not the official cinematics.
Wanted to ask if you guys are set on playing the Defiant side. Honestly i am not a big fan of it , races look kinda creepy and i think i can be a bastard even on the "good" side when it comes to pvp . And if the landscape around there is mainly gore and dark , it gets depresing :p .
I would prefer playin for the guardians. I know you might say that all good players go for the dark side but i have a really good example from AION when even if the first month we the asmos where rulling in Abyss ,, after that elyos, considered the good side ,started winning more and more , in the end it was either balanced or towards elyos side.

All the good players play on the dark side..... lol you are funny. And yes we are set on it. The landscap is no different as it is an open world. And no elyos sucked balls the entire time I was playing Aion.
